Winners

Right now in the middle of the season, I’ve got football on the brain. I’ve always been a sports fan, and I know I’ve talked about that before in my messages to you like this one. In football, no matter how the game goes, there are great plays and poor ones, and there’s always a loser and a winner, even if it takes overtime and each team giving it every scrap of energy they’ve got.

This makes me think about my business, and certainly about my competition. I know that if I want to come out on top in the end, I’ve got to outwork, outsmart, and outperform everybody else.

Something that I’ve learned which has been critically important to my success so far is … if you want to be a winner you must Think Like a Winner.

Winners think differently than everyone else. They approach their life and work with a different mindset and belief system that separates them from the competition

Here are 3 traits all true winners have in heaps…

  1. Real Winners Expect to Win – When they walk on the field, they expect to win. They are, in fact, surprised when they don’t win. They expect success and their positive beliefs often lead to positive actions and outcomes for them. They win in their mind first and then they win BIG.
  2. Winners Don’t Make Excuses When They Lose – They don’t focus on failure. They focus on what they can do better and try to improve a bit each day. They see their mistakes and defeats as opportunities.
  3. Winners Believe They Will Win Again in the Future – For a real winner, faith is greater than fear. Their positive belief is greater than any negative self-thought which might otherwise hold them back. Even when they lose, despite any situation, winners believe their best days are ahead of them, not behind them.

Can you say that you have these traits too? All winners do. And if you’re anything like me (and I think you probably are), you want to win.
